For next year’s festival, five-day passes are available in varied constructions, valid for five consecutive days from August 7th, 8th or 9th. All of the discounted passes, including the weekly admission, come with the same services that the regular tickets offer. Those purchasing any of the early-bird tickets can use the basic campsites on the island and choose to upgrade this option for a specialised campsite to receive enhanced security and special services.
Szitizens who arrive early to secure the best available camping spot can add moving-in passes to their basic admission. This would provide them with an option to move in even three days before the festival starts.
The promotion will automatically end if 20% of all the available passes for the 2019 event sells out within these 24 hours.
On September 20th, Sziget announced Ed Sheeran as the first headliner at next year’s festival. The English singer treads the boards on August 7th, the opening day of the week-long bash.
Organised every year on an island just outside Budapest, the Sziget Festival is Europe’s most diverse extravaganza, where immersive art projects, grand theatre shows, thought-provoking discussions and movie screenings complement concerts. This year, the festival brought the world’s biggest acts to the Hungarian capital, including Lana Del Rey, Kendrick Lamar, the Gorillaz, Mumford & Sons, Dua Lipa, Kygo and the Arctic Monkeys.
For 2019, the budget allocated for stellar performers will be increased by an additional half-billion forints (about €1.5 million), so Sziget szitizens can once again expect world-class names in the line-up.
See the Sziget website for more information.
